    Sr. Network Engineers are responsible for analyzing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing network infrastructure and application components. Technical background should include Access Networks, Wireless, Core, Network planning, Network baseline & topology assessment, Network planning & optimization. This position performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure network performance meets client and user satisfaction. A Senior Network Engineer also provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations. Extensive experience in channel based client engagements, either working directly for a client/channel partner or experience in positioning complex installations to clients is required.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

    The Senior Network Engineer needs to have an intermediate level of knowledge in all aspects of networking technology with focused background in 1 Specialty (Data Center, Route/Switch, Security, Collaboration, etc). Focus should be on Cisco technologies, but the Sr. Engineer should have a working knowledge of other network platforms, and industry standards. Sr. Network Engineer should have experience working with routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, cabling and other essential network hardware. Duties include:

    • Gather business requirements needed to produce and design a solution/architecture to address a given business need
    • Planning, and upgrading network installation projects in accordance to a defined Architecture.
    • Troubleshooting network architecture and making recommendations for system fixes and enhancements based on best practices
    • Collaborating as a member of a sales support or account team by participating in customer presentations as a technical expert
    • Create both Bills of Material (BoM) and Statements of Work (SOW) for a given customer engagement.   Participate in the delivery of these items to the customer
    • Lead technical delivery for intermediate level projects
    • Take on the project delivery role for all technical resources from Network Technician to Senior Network Engineer as circumstances dictate
    • This position requires schedule flexibility and willingness to answer calls outside of the regular workweek to handle critical, emergency situations from time to time.
    • Experience working on projects with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
    • Additional duties as assigned

    Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

    Job Experience

    • Six to nine years of industry experience
    • Experience working in Channel Distribution or Value Added Reseller industries is preferred


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.


    • CCNA-Pro
    • CCIE in process or newly obtained

    Technical Skills

    Intermediate level knowledge in the following:

    • Cisco Datacenter technologies (Unified Fabric, Nexus, UCS)
    • Strong Layer 3 and 2 knowledge with detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of IP protocols, firewalls, Load balancers, routers, switches, and IDS/IPS
    • Knowledge of SAN switching, iSCSI, Fibre Channel and FCoE
    • Network security (Firewall, VPN, prefer Cisco but Juniper, Palo Alto of value)
    • Experience with the following: IP Routing and Services, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DMVPN, and iWAN. Layer-2 switching technologies and related WAN technologies like MPLS, DWDM, T1, T3 OC3
    • Demonstrated knowledge of DWDM Optical infrastructure and Dark/lit service technologies
    • Knowledge of system architecture and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex routing, switching and forwarding issues on Cisco Routing and switching platforms like Catalyst 6500/7600, ASR 9000, Nexus, CRS, and GSR.
    • Knowledgeable of Cisco IP technologies like QoS, ACLs, Multicast, Security, etc. IP convergence and Cisco enhancements for fast convergence DDOS and traffic mitigation techniques
    • Demonstrated industry knowledge of the management of peering/IX/NAP issues
    • IPV6/IPV4 routing and networking migration technologies
