Responsible for the financial reporting maintenance account reconciliation and analysis of the General Ledger and books of original entry and the maintenance and documentation of internal accounting controls. Includes month-end close accounting activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: May be responsible for preparing monthly and annual consolidated statements for Tech Data Inc. Analyze financial reports and records and make studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves assets and expenditures. Audit review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures. Instruct or assign work to bookkeepers accounting clerks and other employees engaged in general accounting activities. Coordinate accounting matters with other departments locations and divisions. Assist with the preparation of year-end closings. Assist in the preparation of working papers for annual audit. Track down where funding is to be collected. Serve as a technical resource for other finance personnel regarding GAAP FASB and other generally accepted practices. Collect analyze and report on data. Knowledge and Skills: Knows and applies the fundamental concepts practices and procedures of accounting to include general ledger experience. Good analytical skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are essential. Proficiency in PC spreadsheet and accounting software is required.
Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. Education and Certification(s): Bachelor�s Degree in Accounting or Finance or a closely related degree or equivalent experience is required.
