  • Overview

    Responsible for the financial reporting maintenance account reconciliation and analysis of the General Ledger and books of original entry and the maintenance and documentation of internal accounting controls. Includes month-end close accounting activities and Prepares, records, verifies, analyzes and reports accounts payable/receivable transactions

    Pays vendor invoices, and receives and posts customer payments on a timely basis 

    Maintains and reconciles accounts payable/receivable ledger accounts, financial statements and reports 

    Prepares analyses and reconciliations of bill runs to detect fraud 

    Ensures that transaction entry verification procedures are followed

    Reconciles Accounts Payable with supplier statements

    Forecast of Accounts Payables 

    Closing of purchasing book

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

    Duties and Responsibilities: May be responsible for Analyze financial reports and records and make studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves assets and expenditures. Audit review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures. Instruct or assign work to bookkeepers accounting clerks and other employees engaged in general accounting activities. Coordinate accounting matters with other departments locations and divisions. Assist with the preparation of year-end closings. Assist in the preparation of working papers for annual audit. Track down where funding is to be collected. Serve as a technical resource for other finance personnel regarding GAAP FASB and other generally accepted practices. Collect analyze and report on data. Knowledge and Skills: Knows and applies the fundamental concepts practices and procedures of accounting to include general ledger experience. Good analytical skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are essential. Proficiency in PC spreadsheet and accounting software is required.

    Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

    Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. Education and Certification(s): Bachelor�s Degree in Accounting or Finance or a closely related degree or equivalent experience is required.

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

     

      • Associates preferred, Bachelors or above strongly preferred
      • Approximately 2 - 5 years experience in Accounting or Finance
      • Leads/Owns projects and task forces by setting timelines and expectations, assigning responsibilities, and defining scope of project as well as steps for completion.
      • Developed independent critical thinking and problem resolution.
      • Will collaborate where necessary.
      • Understands a long-term, big picture view and identifies obstacles and opportunities in their particular functional area. Applies knowledge, experience, and expertise when addressing complex issues.
      • Understands strategic goals of department clearly.
      • Maintains a big picture view. Foresees obstacles and opportunities within area of responsibilities.
      • Understands the impact of elements and processes as they relate to the overall business. Knowledge and application of Intermediate/Advanced Excel and Intermediate Access as SAP and Salesforce (preferred) 
      • Good communication skills, attention to detail, adaptable to change, displays accuracy and timeliness, financial and business acumen, high decision quality, professionalism, teamwork, able to maintain confidential information
      • HIGH level of "self starting" thinking required for analysis, evaluation, creating, reasoning, and drawing conclusions/solutions; HIGH complexity of mental process to achieve in the role in order to come to solutions.
      • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
